Healthy feet start with healthy skin and nails.

What to Expect

Your appointment begins with an in-depth assessment of your skin and nail health, including a full discussion of your medical history. This helps us understand your needs and create a tailored treatment plan — not a one-size-fits-all approach.

We take the time to explain exactly what’s happening with your feet, answer your questions, and give you the tools and knowledge to maintain your results between visits.

Conditions We Treat

Our podiatrists regularly assess and treat:

• Corns and callus — safe, painless removal of hard skin
• Ingrown toenails — including conservative management and nail surgery
• Verrucae and plantar warts
• Tinea pedis (athlete’s foot)
• Fungal nail infections
• Dry and cracked heels
• Thickened, misshapen or damaged toenails — including KeryFlex nail restoration for cosmetic nail concerns

Why See a Podiatrist Instead of a Nail Salon?

Podiatrists are university-trained, AHPRA-registered clinicians. When a skin or nail condition has an underlying cause — such as circulation, biomechanics, diabetes, or footwear — a podiatrist identifies and addresses it. A nail salon cannot.

At Sydney Podiatry Co, every treatment is performed in a fully sterile clinical environment using hospital-grade hygiene protocols.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a skin and nail appointment and a medical pedicure?
A skin and nail appointment focuses on the clinical assessment and treatment of specific conditions — corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, fungal nails and nail care. Our Flawless Feet Medical Pedicure takes this further, combining clinical podiatry with a full spa-inspired experience including a scrub, massage and nail polish finish.

Do I need a referral for a skin and nail appointment?
No referral is required. You can book directly online or by phone.

How often should I have a skin and nail appointment?
This depends on your individual needs. Patients with recurring corns, callus or nail concerns typically benefit from appointments every six to eight weeks. Your podiatrist will recommend an appropriate maintenance schedule at your first visit.

Can a podiatrist treat fungal nail infections?
Yes. Our podiatrists are experienced in diagnosing and managing fungal nail infections, and can recommend the most appropriate treatment plan based on the severity and duration of your infection.

What is KeryFlex and is it available at your clinic?
KeryFlex nail restoration is a podiatrist-applied cosmetic nail system that creates a natural-looking prosthetic nail over damaged or missing toenails. It is available at our Balgowlah clinic and is a popular option for patients with nails damaged by fungal infection, trauma or nail surgery.

Health Fund Rebates

Skin and nail treatments are claimable through most private health funds with podiatry cover. We offer HICAPS on-the-spot claiming at our Balgowlah clinic; no paperwork, no out-of-pocket delays.
