Do you have Plantar Warts? Our Sydney Podiatry specialists are here to help.

For effective plantar wart treatment, our Sydney podiatrists can provide you with a range of solutions to treat this uncomfortable condition including Cryotherapy, Salicylic Acid, Silver Nitrate and SWIFT therapy.

Plantar Warts are those unsightly bumps and skin growth found on the sole of your foot caused by a viral infection known as the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Although not an overly serious health condition, it is contagious and can easily be spread to other people if proper care isn’t taken to clear it up.

With over 25 years industry expertise, our family owned podiatry practice can provide you with a detailed diagnosis and get your plantar warts treated with minimal downtime and discomfort.

What Causes Plantar Warts?

The HPV virus is transmitted via skin-to-skin contact with a person who has the virus or through cross contamination in communal / public areas.

For example: showering at a gym without adequate footwear, public swimming pools, saunas, spas or simply sharing socks / footwear with an infected person are common ways of catching plantar warts.

Where do you go for plantar wart removal in Sydney?

At Sydney Podiatry Co, we provide a number of plantar wart treatments in our Sydney clinic. Although there’s a tendency for warts to disappear over time, getting it removed a soon as possible is a good idea – particularly if it’s causing you pain. Our professional treatments will effectively resolve your plantar wart concerns and help you get back to living life to the fullest.

Our podiatrists can administer the following treatments:

Swift Therapy

This involves medical microwave technology that heats the wart tissue up to 45 degrees. With an extremely high success rate, it’s one of the most effective plantar wart solutions on the market today.

Silver Nitrate

We debride away the excess skin and then apply a gentle silver nitrate topical solution to dissolve away the wart tissue.

Salicylic Acid

This is applied to directly to the wart as a thick paste formulation after debridement. Several treatments are recommended for best results.

Cryotherapy

Liquid nitrogen (freezing solution) is applied to the lesion. This may cause blistering in some patients but improves within a few days. Another session is recommended a few weeks after the first treatment to resolve the issue.
