FAQ

Can I cancel my appointment?We understand that people become unwell, or circumstances arise that may prevent you from making your appointment. We hope you understand that our practitioners often have people on a waiting list, so we do ask you to contact us with sufficient notice where possible; generally with 24 hours notice. Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice may incur a cancellation fee.
What should I bring to my appointment?If you have been referred, please bring your referral letter. Any relevant scans can help such as X-rays, CT’s, MRI’s etc if you have them. It is also helpful if you bring shorts or tracksuit pants and your sport shoes. If you don’t have new shoes, don’t buy any as we may recommend a suitable replacement if necessary.
Do you bulk bill?We do not bulk bill. If you have a referral from your GP, we have the facilities to claim the Medicare rebate for you at the time of your appointment. You will need to bring your Medicare card with you. Otherwise, we will provide you with a receipt of payment and if eligible you may take your receipt to Medicare for reimbursement.
Will my health fund cover my podiatry consultation?Generally, Yes, however  this is dependent on the type and level of your cover, It is always best to check with your health fund prior to your consult.
Do you have HICAPs?Yes, at both Balgowlah and Curl Curl Podiatrry We have HICAPs or an equivalent for instant health fund rebates. This allows for on the spot claiming and saves you the hassle of having to go to your health fund for your rebate. If covered you will only have to pay the gap if any.
Is podiatry covered by Medicare?The answer is sometimes. You may be eligible if your General Practitioner has enrolled you in an Enhanced Primary Care program and has registered your details with Medicare. On this program patients may be able to claim back a rebate for their podiatry consultation. Eligibility criteria is at your GP's discretion and is considered if you suffer from a chronic health condition.
Do I need a referral to visit a podiatrist?No, You do not need a referral, however on occasions you may be referred by your GP, Specialist or Allied Heath Professional.

Sydney Podiatry Co conveniently has two locations on the Northern Beaches. North Curl Curl and Balgowlah.
 
Curl Curl: We are located within Impulse Chiropractic Clinic at 15/64 Pitt Road, Curl Curl, 2099.  Street parking is available, with ground floor access to the clinic.

Balgowlah: Located within Qualatis Allied Health Care centre at 197 Woodlands Street, Balgowlah, 2093. Parking is avalible at the Balgowlah Podiatry premisis, there is also ample street parking available.
